For
many centuries Tibetans have displayed prayer flags to invoke
compassion, harmony, peace, wisdom, strength and, to offer
protection against dangers and evil and to benefit the karma
of the individual who hangs them.
The
colour of a prayer flag and the symbols of the Buddhas teachings
printed on it create a prayer or offering that the wind
distributes to the world each time it brushes against the
flag.
Tibetan
Prayer flags are purposely not protected from fading and will
deteriorate from time spent out in the elements. The prayers
of a flag then become a permanent part of the universe as
the images fade from wind and sun.
Our
Tibetan Prayer Flags are made in Nepal in the traditional
colours of the 5 elements, blue space, sky; white
air, clouds; red fire; green - water and yellow
earth. |
